It's been a fair few years since The Blue Nile, released a studio
album, which is always a risky strategy as tastes and styles
move on. However, what they've come up with is a timeless, fashion
independent album, that is soothing and warm.
Vocally, Paul Buchanan has got a very addictive voice, with
hints of Roy Orbison, but with a Celtic twang. Overall the theme
is fairly mellow, along the lines of Paul Weller album.
The album floats along nicely with few surprises. It's got
it's romantic element, but is not overly soppy. It's a good
alround listen, with simply but strikingly effective songs.
