It's the 23rd Spring, and day 22 and the final day of
a 23 flesh binge. The creeper has still got a fairly good appetite, which
is bad news for a group of basketball players that have got stuck on the East
9 Highway.
As soon as nightfall arrives, the creeper comes in for the kill and spreads panic and fear throughout the stranded coach.
I'm not going to say this is a classic, as it's not. With one dimensional acting and a no brainer story, it's not really 'Nightmare on Elm Street', but it's certainly not the worst horror / gore film I've seen either.
There was potential to develop this film further, but it hasn't been exploited. There are still too many unanswered questions and no depth to any characters.
That aside, the film is definitely as good as the first one, so if you enjoyed JC1, you'll like this one too. The suspense is quite good for this type of film. The Creeper chooses his victims with a nod or a wink - but in the chaos, no-one is really sure who he we was looking at... or did he just have a nervous twitch? I dunno. Also the special effects are not too bad.
Overall, it delivers what you'd expect and will please anyone who enjoyed the first one.
